⚠️ This article refers to Pico Version 1.17 and will be removed or updated in the future once we release Pico Version 2.0.
To collect physical mailing addresses for users who subscribe to a specific tier that you are offering a physical benefit, we will create a Mailchimp landing page that will collect additional information and add it to a welcome email for that tier.
Setting Up the Landing Page
To collect addresses you will need a landing page to send to your subscribers that will be receiving physical mail.
First, within Mailchimp, select "Create" then "Landing Page":
Next, you will be prompted to enter a name for the page and select your audience. You'll want to give a good descriptive name so that you can refer back to it later. Then, select "Begin":
Mailchimp will then take you to a collection of templates. We are going to select the "Grow Your List" template and customize it further:
Once you have selected the template, you will want to add your customizations to make the form match your company colors and logo. Add some information about the address collection:
Once you have set up your design, you will want to make sure to update the form field.
Select the signup field and make sure to add the address field. Additionally, you'll want to mark it as required.
You can also add any other fields you'd like to collect as well, such as first and last name. You can also update the "Subscribe" button text to say "Submit":
Once you are done, select "Save & Close". You will then be taken to a page where you can update any final changes you'd like to make. After confirming that it looks good, you can then select "Publish":
You will then be given a URL for your landing page which you can then use to link to in a follow-up email to users on a tier that includes a physical benefit.

Setting Up a Tier Specific Email
Next, we will need to set up the automation to send an email to anyone who has subscribed to your specific tier to let them know that you will need their physical address.
To start, you'll want to select "Automations" then "Emails":
On the new popup, select "Automated", then "Subscriber Activity", then "Respond to subscriber updates":
You will then be directed to a new popup, here you will want to select "Audience field change" then give the automation a good name that describes what it will do. Then select "Begin":
On the new page it takes you to, you'll first want to modify the trigger, so select "Edit" next to that:
For this automation, we will want to send the email immediately, then select it to trigger off of the "tier" field, and put the exact name of the tier that you set in Pico:
⚠️This field is looking for an exact match so it will need to be the exact tier that you have physical mail for. If you are offering multiple tiers that have physical mail, you will need to set up automation rules for each.
Select "Update trigger" in the top right corner to be taken back to the campaign settings. Then select "Design Email":
Upon selecting "Design Email" you'll be prompted to set up the details of the email. Make sure to set a good subject and preview text so that the subscribers will open the email:
Once you have your settings select "next" at the bottom right-hand corner to move to the template selection.
For this example we will be using the "Basic 1 Column" template:
On the next screen, you can customize the email to your liking. This is also where we will insert the link to the landing page we created. This way the end-user will receive an email asking for them to submit their physical address and then link to the landing page:
Once your email looks good, you'll want to select "Save And Continue" at the bottom right. This will take you back to the automation settings. You can then select "Next" at the bottom right if you believe your settings and email look good! The system will ask you to review once more, then you can select "start sending" and it will start sending your follow up email to your physical mail tier:
If you have additional tiers that will need this automation, you will simply need to run through the steps to create the automation again but replace the tier name.
